Life is full of major events. Some are planned, but some aren’t. Lincoln Financial needed an online experience that took the confusion out of planning for all of life’s moments.
Buying a home, getting married, having kids—all things that seem far off until they suddenly become part of your life. Without planning, such enormous events could throw off personal finances and make dealing with the expected—and unexpected—difficult.
Your Futureself maps out personal finances throughout the life of a consumer. The site helps organize financial goals: from marriage, to volunteering, to making that dream purchase after retirement. Firstborn focused on the unforeseen preparation needed in life without scaring off consumers. Factors like divorce and aging parents, while sobering, are essential for an accurate financial forecast.
The user begins the experience by entering his or her current age and expected age of retirement. From there, a dynamic, linear timeline gives the big picture of the monumental stages in between. Users could save their "to dos" and virtually check the completed items off the list every time they visit.
By setting goals and encouraging a plan for the unforeseeable, Your Futureself makes it easier to get the life you’ve always dreamed of.
